New EU rules for the tachograph
The European regulation for the smart tachograph is changing in phases. These are the key deadlines for your fleet.
Important deadlines and requirements
Make sure your vehicles are compliant with the smart tacho 2 on time:
- Analogue or digital tachograph: upgrade to smart tacho 2 by 31 December 2024 at the latest.
- Smart tacho 1: upgrade to smart tacho 2 by 18 August 2025 at the latest.
- Vehicles > 2.5 tonnes performing cabotage: a smart tacho 2 by 1 July 2026 at the latest.
